We are going to make 2.400 houses more energy-efficient

Actium will make 2.400 homes more energy-efficient in the next five years. This will also make the homes more comfortable to live in. Everyone whose home is part of this project will receive a letter by post.

What work we are going to do

The exact work varies per house. It depends on the (installations in) the house and any issues the home. Think of:

  • Insulating your home
  • Improving ventilation
  • Installing solar panels
  • Installing a (hybrid) heat pump

You will hear from us at least six months in advance

We will then inform you about the first preparations we need to do. We will also invite you to a meeting or a visit at your home, where we explain more about the work, the schedule, and what this means for you. If our schedule changes, we will also inform you in time.

Why we are making your home more sustainable

We want you to live comfortably and affordably in a home that uses less energy. Using less energy also aligns with the agreements made by the Netherlands and Europe to live more sustainably, or in other words, to take better care of the environment.

What are the benefits for me after my home has been made more sustainable?

Sustainability means that we make our houses more environmentally friendly and energy-efficient. This often makes your home more comfortable and (more) pleasant to live in. If you use the new installations properly, you will need to use less heat. As a result, CO₂ emissions are going to be reduced, which is better for the environment. Better insulation or a new ventilation system also makes your home healthier to live in.

Who will do the work?

A contractor will do the work on your home. In the letter we send you, you’ll find the name of the contractor working on your house when work starts on your house. These companies are reliable and understand how to make homes more sustainable. They will do the work carefully and professionally, so your home becomes more energy-efficient and comfortable to live in.

Before they start, they will check what improvements are needed. Most of the time, they do not need to enter your home. If they do, they will ring your doorbell. The worker will always show their ID.

Can I contribute (my own) ideas about the measures?

Yes, in some cases, you can contribute (your) ideas. This depends on the measures needed in your home. We will first evaluate what your home specifically needs. We will also discuss any issues such as drafts, mold, or unpleasant odors with you.

Will my rent increase due to the sustainability improvements?

No, your rent will not increase due to the sustainability improvements (made) in your home. However, the rent may rise due to the annual rent increase. We only raise the rent if it is necessary to maintain our services and homes. If we need to adjust the rent in the future due to new regulations or financial reasons, we will let you know in advance.
